A Twig Wreath and Bow

The making of the wreath was easy. Very easy actually. I added the
leaves and butterflies from the PSP tubes and made the bow for the
finishing touch. You can find the tutorial for bow below.

Now the challenge came when making the bow. I haven't really
worked with nodes before and well it was quite challenging to
get the shape right. The other challenging part came when trying
to select the area for the crease marks to make depth and for it
to appear more real. Here's my attempt and I have to say it didn't
turn out too bad however there is always room for improvement :)

Experimenting

Say hello to Riley! He's basically my nephew and he's so handsome. I've been wanting to do a layout of him for awhile. Today, I finally found a kit I liked and thought it would be perfect for the job.

It took me a while to get the tearing of the paper down. I followed part of a tutorial here http://www.fortunecity.com/westwood/alaia/354/tutorials/torn2/index.html and then improvised when I didn't like the way it turned out by going to effects/texture effects/sandstone and messing with it till I got it just the way I wanted it.

My thanks go to Melany Violette,Designer and owner of http://www.simplycleandigiscraps.com for this great kit.

Woohoo, My first blog!!

I've been messing around with Paint Shop Pro for several years. I started with version 7 and have recently upgraded to version X2 so I'm very familiar with the program. I started out by making signature tags for friends.

Recently though, I've gotten hooked into making digital scrapbook pages. I'm not very good at it yet. I have issues with layout design and am working to overcome my perfection of having everything aligned a certain way and symmetrical. Here are a couple of my first pages:

As I learn to make better layouts, I have decided I would like to learn to make my own papers, embellishments and all that stuff that goes along with the beautiful kits I have come across over the last few months. So, in the future, stay tuned, I hope to be offering my own kits.
