Pet Peeve!

Okay, I have a pet peeve and even though I'm complaining about this... I do take some responsibility for this myself.

In the beginning, when I first thought about getting into scrapbooking, I downloaded a bunch of stuff and I wasn't really thinking about detailed organization.

Well, Now that I am really getting into scrapbooking and making some of my own kits I am realizing the need to be very organized. Heck, once you download a bunch of stuff it could get lost on your PC and never get found again, or at least not for a very long time. Hence, good organization is a major plus!

So, what is my pet peeve your wondering? Well it's this, I am sitting here going through all of those kits I downloaded in the beginning before I had a "system". And guess what, I can't credit anyone for some of those kits because they did NOT include a document with their information or they included a Word document. I don't have Word on my computer, many people don't and I can't open them.

Now, I do realize that I should have been better organized. As I said, I do take some responsbility here and that is why I WILL include a notepad (most computers have that) or Adobe Reader document (free to download) with ALL the information needed for proper credit.

The lesson here, if you are just starting out in scrapbooking, STAY VERY ORGANIZED FROM THE BEGINNING!

Don't do what I did and just start a scrapbooking folder and put each kit in it's own folder with no other organization. I suggest when you download a kit, paper, element, wordart, etc. from a designer start a folder with their name on it, open a new folder within that and name the folder with the kit name or item you downloaded. Do this for each item. At least then you will be able to credit someone if they haven't included any "identifying" documents within the download.

Well, I'm done ranting... Have a great day!

Thank you and update

Wow... Thank you to all those who downloaded my first Taggers Kit. No one reported any issues with it :) Guess I can expect it to go off without a hitch lol

Here's an update:

First, I'm feeling so much better. It took a long time for the family to get over being sick but we are all finally well again! So, I have more time to play and that's a wonderful thing for me and for you.

Second, I'm going to start working on a new kit. This kit will be full size and in this color palette:

My issue is the size of elements. I've been looking at other kits so I have some ideas but I am still a little confused. At this point there is not a release date. I know that doesn't make some of you happy but hey, these are my first kits and I have to start somewhere... right? I know it will get easier as time goes on and as I learn new things so please be patient with me :)

Well, that is all I have for now... have a wonderful day!

St Patricks Day Kit

Ok. Real life really got in the way of getting out the Valentine's Day kit I was going to put out on the 1st. All four of my children were sick. My youngest was home for an entire week and another was home almost a week. Of course I got sick once they were getting well. Isn't that the way it always goes?

So, I have been working on a St. Patrick's Day kit the last few days. It is a tagger size kit. I have made a sample page so you can preview some of what you will be getting in the kit. I WILL be putting this kit up on Feb 17th. (I'm still mulling over a few ideas.)

May I introduce you to My Lucky Charms. These are my children. Boy, are they growing up fast!

Life...

Life has gotten in the way of getting the kit done for February 1st :(

I have had one sick child after one sick child. I probably have to take my 6 yr old and 12 yr old to the doctor tomorrow. The other two children have already been there... Whatever is going around is bad and well it has taken control of our home... I hope this be the last of it though :)

I'll try to get the kit up in the next couple of days... it will be tagger size as I am still learning.

Have a great week!
